Pink Trip Around the World Quilt for Olivia

I used Elenor Burns, Trip Around the World Quilt book to make this twin size quilt for my grand daughters 15th Birthday coming up on July 4th.  She likes pink.

I wanted it to be squishy and fluffly, so opted for Mountain Mist Medium Loft Polyester Batting, instead of the usual cotton batt.  I also wanted soft looking quilting lines so used the orange peel quilting pattern around all the block edges, it turned out sooooo nice!

Even looks great from the back,

I'll definately be using this method again when I need a cuddly, squishy style quilt.

All the fabrics are 100% cotton, I did pre-wash the backing.  I used Connecting Threads "Essential Pro" thread in size 70.  I really like how my style of stitching comes out with this thread.

Quilted Birds for Amber

Amber, my daughter got this Bird Quilt for her 40th Birthday, my goodness, time has flown.
I used BlackBirds from Sewfreshquilts and fabric from my local quilt shop Back Door General Store in Whitefish MT.
After quilting in securing lines, I used the Pebble pattern to machine quilt it all over except the bird bodies.
Quilted on my Brother DZ1500F,

Shoe Covers for "Justin Jest"

I was asked to create shoe covers for the Bigfork Childrens Theatre master of ceremonies, "Justin Jest", who comes out on stage pre show to sing and dance to a jingle about proper theatre manners.
Thank goodness I had the tennis shoes he uses so I could draft the pattern from the shoe.
I used scraps from parts of his costume and bonded fusible fleece to the wrong side for support.
I even made a label for inside that said, Made by Linda Maxfield 2018 and sewed it in.
During construction
All finished!

...on pins and needles

I had a request for a pincushion, from my youngest daughter, Andrea.....so, here it is. I used the eternal favorite, Sunbonnet Pincushion. (who hasn't seen or owned one of these in their lifetime?)

Gifts

I just finished this gift for a new baby boy. Four burp cloths and a nice little crocheted blanket, using the "never ending granny-square" pattern. It's a good pattern when you need to keep your fingers busy, but, not your brain.....
